Autograph letter signed, dated : Vienna Sept. 3 1927, to [Hermann Scherchen], 1927 Sept. 3.

Saying that they possess something that others lack, a musical ear, that it always amuses him that Scherchen wants to have a better ear than his, explaining that he hears harmonic and melodic intervals that stretch over miles, saying that his colleagues want him to imitate 12-tone music, but its "Bögen" collapse, its intervals break up, adding that when Scherchen knows his work better he will laugh over "modern music," and saying that he has reorchestrated the entire Suite and that Scherchen will be astounded at what Hauer has learned from him.
